Ramos has revealed the secret to his success at Real Madrid as they prepare to face Barcelona in the El Clasico on Sunday.
Ramos joined Madrid from Sevilla in 2005 and has gone on to become an integral player for Los Blancos over the years.
In that period, the Spaniard has also seen his fair share of success at the club.
The 33-year-old has lifted four league titles in his span at the club as well as a host of other domestic silverware.
Ramos has also enjoyed success in European competition, lifting four Champions League trophies and three UEFA Super Cups.
On a personal record he has also bailed the club out with important goals and is only two away from being La Liga’s highest scoring defender in history.
Madrid have fallen two points behind Barcelona in the La Liga race and Ramos insists his teammates are still focused ahead of the El Clasico.
He also gave an insight to what has seen him become so successful at the club.
“The secret is hard work,” Ramos told La Liga via Goal when questioned on his success in Madrid.
“It’s dedication and not losing focus or ambition. That’s fundamental.”
“It’s tough, but if you can reset yourself every season to keep fighting, win trophies and to keep up that attitude of wanting to win new titles, that’s really important.”
“Looking after myself and keeping in the best shape possible is always at the forefront of my mind.”
Ramos recently admitted that beating Barcelona would give Los Blancos great joy and his side have just the chance to that when they clash heads on Sunday.
