Steven Gerrard is keen on signing Ryan Kent permanently from Liverpool but it appears that the youngster will not be allowed to leave this summer.
Ryan Kent had an excellent loan spell with Rangers last season and went on to pick the SPFA Young Player of the Year award.
After impressing so much at the Ibrox, Steven Gerrard is keen on signing the youngster on a permanent basis from Liverpool. However, it appears that the youngster will have a chance to feature for the Reds first team next season.
Jurgen Klopp decided to field Ryan Kent in both of his team’s preseason games in which he impressed.
And while Steven Gerrard is keen to sign the player, club legend, Sir Kenny Dalglish has warned his former player that he will have to be patient.
“I’m sure Jurgen Klopp will try to be helpful to Steven Gerrard whenever he can,” Dalglish wrote in the Sunday Post.
“We’ve seen that with the number of players who have made the journey from Anfield to Ibrox on loan since Steven became Light Blues manager.
“But Jurgen’s priority is his own team. And, right now, Klopp needs Kent.
“Liverpool’s pre-season is well under way, but they are still missing one or two players. So that’s why the likes of Kent and Harry Wilson have been getting a game.
“If Kent impresses and really catches the eye of the manager, then he may well not be allowed to leave as Jurgen will see him as part of his first-team squad.
“Alternatively, a big-money bid could come in for Ryan, and there would be a decision whether to sell or not.
“We will just have to wait and see what happens. Rangers will need to be patient with this one.”
And with Gerrard keen on challenging for the title next season, it is likely that the midfielder is not going to give up on the dream to sign Ryan Kent this summer.
