Ralf Rangnick is happy at Red Bull but if he had a job offer from the likes of AC Milan, under the right set of circumstances he would consider it.

Ralf Rangnick is no longer in football management but is the head of sports development for Red Bull.

They are the owners of RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg, where Rangnick has worked before.

Rangnick’s last managerial position was with Leipzig before he moved upstairs. He still lives in the town in Germany in his current position with the parent company.

Speaking to German outlet Mitteldeutsche Zeitung, he insists now is not the time to talk about a move, but does hint that AC Milan has been discussed.

He said:

“There has been an interest, but with the coronavirus, there have been other things to consider besides thinking whether Rangnick is the right man for them and Milan something for me.”

When asked about returning to management he admits it would all depend on the club. He insists he is not looking for a move but should the right opportunity present itself he would consider it.

“That would depend on the club in question. But that’s all hypothetical.”

“I’ve been living in Leipzig for six years, I feel extremely comfortable here and I can very well imagine staying here longer.”

“A lot would have to come together to think about something else.”

Rangnick is adamant no move would be motivated by money, but the opportunity to have a huge impact.

He continued:

“I’m not interested in financial aspects.”

“For me it’s about: Do you feel that you have a certain influence?”

“It’s not so much about power, even if you need it in certain situations to get certain things going.”

Stefano Pioli is only a few months into a two-year contract, will be one of the unfortunate ones to lose his job this summer, with Milan apparently already preparing for life after him.
