Fulham manager Claudio Ranieri says Manchester United loanee Timothy Fosu-Mensah is free to return to Old Trafford in the January window.
Having failed to establish himself in the Fulham team since his loan move last summer, Fosu-Mensah can now end his spell at Craven Cottage and return to United if his parent club wants him.
The 21-year-old defender featured four times in Fulham’s opening six games of the season but has been on the fringes since then.
With the defender facing the prospect of continued limited opportunities at Fulham, Claudio Ranieri is prepared to let him go back to Manchester this January.
“If Manchester United want him he can go because with me he hasn’t played often and I understand he is young and he needs to play,” Ranieri told Sky Sports.
“At this moment for me, it is very important to achieve our goal now which is to save Fulham [from relegation].”
