Spanish striker Raul de Tomas refused to discuss a potential return to Real Madrid for next season following an impressive loan spell at Rayo Vallecano
De Tomas is on loan at Rayo for a second campaign and he’s continued from where he left off last term with eight goals in his 16 La Liga games.
This impressive stat means that he has outscored all of Real’s players with Karim Benzema being his closest rival in the league on seven goals.
But, considering that Rayo are down in 18th-place in the standings, De Tomas’ exploits are far more impressive and this has not gone unnoticed in Spain.
“The circumstances are like this because we have decided them this way,” De Tomas told Marca on a return to Madrid.
“Now they will see what they have to do and I wish them luck.
“It’s normal that [the media] talk about Real Madrid because I have a contract with them.
“But when you are playing for another club and score three goals, and the first thing they ask is about Real Madrid, well that’s not right.”
The 24-year-old then added that he hopes to help Rayo avoid relegation and end the season with 15 goals.
