Real Madrid’s youth coordinator Stefan Kohfahl insists that there is a number of top prospects coming through the ranks at the club.
The likes of Achraf Hakimi has excelled on loan at Borussia Dortmund, while Martin Odegaard has demonstrated a lot of potential at Sociedad.
Kohfahl is excited at the prospects that are coming through to the first team.
Speaking to Goal, he admits some are more likely to succeed than others, but he is adamant the future is bright.
“For me, Hakimi, who I already identified three years ago has the best chance of going on to be one of the best.”
“I also think Luca Zidane is outstanding.”
“I have never seen a better footballer in terms of a goalkeeper having the ability with their feet. It’s just a pity he’s not a few centimeters taller.”
“There will be a lot of talk about Martin Odegaard as well.”
“He had some difficulties at the beginning but so far he’s been playing superbly well at San Sebastian this season.”
Federico Valverde is already breaking into the first team and Kohfahl sees him being a permanent fixture for years to come.
“Federico Valverde is my absolute favorite. I can’t imagine the starting eleven without him.”
It appears the balance of youthful imports and home-grown talent will see Los Blancos keep churning out future world-beaters for some time yet.
