Florentino Perez seems decided to break apart the BBC trident.
Real Madrid’s president is unhappy with his team’s performances this season, especially in the attack, where the lack of efficiency has costed them many points already. For this reason, Perez has already identified his next target.
Mauro Icardi is having the best season of his career so far. The 24-year-old scored 11 goals in the 12 matches playerd for Inter this season and is currently second in the top goalscorers’ standings in Serie A, after Ciro Immobile (14).
Icardi scored a hat-trick in the derby against AC Milan. It was the fourth hat-trick for the Argentinian for Inter and the third this year. The previous ones were managed in 2014 (7-0 win over Sassuolo) and 2017 (7-1 win over Atalanta and 5-4 defeat with Fiorentina).
According to Don Balon, Real Madrid has already established contact with the player’s representatives, to see if he would be interested. Icardi has a €110m release clause for clubs outside Italy and Real should have no problem paying that to solve their goalscoring problems.
If the move would go through, Inter have already found the perfect replacement. The nerazzurri will direct the money received for Icardi to fund the transfer of Andrea Belotti from Torino.
