Donny van de Beek is expected to be approached by the La Liga giants if they fail in their pursuit of Manchester United star Paul Pogba.
Real Madrid are now the latest club to show an interest in Donny van de Beek. The Dutchman had a sensational Champions League campaign for Ajax and played a crucial role in eliminating the Spanish outfit from the competition.
The playmaker was in sparkling form in the Dutch Eredivisie as well and could be a useful addition for any team.
Although Real Madrid are keen on bringing Paul Pogba to the Santiago Bernebeu, Los Blanocs know that the process is not going to be easy. Manchester United are in no mood to sell their disgruntled star. Ed Woodward sees the Frenchman as a great marketing item while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hasn’t found a capable replacement so far.
And it now appears that Real Madrid have already devised a Plan B. They will make a move for Donny van de Beek if they are unable to secure Pobga’s signature.
Zinedine Zidane is eager to add more creativity to the midfield this summer. With Luka Modric a shadow of his former self, the French tactician needs a capable replacement. And if that replacement is not Pogba, it could be Donny Van de Beek.
According to Marca, Zidane has already identified the 22 year old as a potential Galactico. With such assuring displays and creativity, the Dutch international will be a great replacement for the ageing Modric.
However, it remains to be seen if the player would be interested in moving to Spain. The player is reportedly keen on making a move to the English Premier League. The likes of Manchester United and Tottenham have shown interest in past so it could turn out to be quite a transfer battle if potential suitors move towards the competing phase of the player’s signature.
