Real Madrid could take a major move in the race for Lautaro Martinez as they aim to trigger his release clause.
Lautaro Martinez is currently one of the most wanted strikers in world football.
After a good start to life in Italy, the Argentine lethal forwardhas continued to live up to his reputation.
He has developed a telepathic partnership with Lukaku, scoring 11 goals in his 20 Serie A games this campaign.
Barcelona have already identified Martinez as a potential replacement for Luis Suarez but the Blaugrana could be beaten to the Argentine by bitter rivals Real Madrid.
According to Argentine publication TyC Sports, Los Blancos are ready to activate Martinez’s €111m release clause at Inter.
The report states that Real Madrid have also prepared a contract offer, which will include a salary of €14m-per-year.
Prior to Martinez joining Inter for €25m, the Argentine starlet told TyC that Real had shown interest in him.
“I’ve had a lot of offers, and they [Madrid] wanted to speak to me,” he said, per AS.
Based on his importance for Inter this season, it remains to be seen whether they will want him to leave..but triggering his release clause could be a bold move from Madrid in their bid to sign Martinez.
