Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has received an official letter from Real Madrid wishing him a speedy recovery from his Achilles tendon injury
The Chile international ruptured his Achilles tendon in a training session and has since undergone surgery.
Bravo is now expected to miss most of the entire 2018/19 campaign.
This development has left City with just the one fit senior stopper in the squad and they have since recalled 19-year-old Aro Muric from his loan spell at Dutch side NAC Breda.
Given the fact that Bravo spent two years at Barcelona, the letter that Real have sent him comes as somewhat of a surprise.
Los Blancos legend Emilio Butragueno wrote it to the 35-year-old on behalf of everyone at the club.
“Dear Claudio, on behalf of all of us at Real Madrid, especially our president Florentino Perez, I want to send you our best wishes for a very fast recovery,” read the letter.
“We are very sorry about what happened, because injuries are the worst part of football, but we have no doubt that, with your professionalism and commitment, you will continue to give much joy to football fans.”
