Zidane has promised to support Bale following the uncertainty that has clouded his future at Madrid lately.
Bale has never been off the headlines for Madrid of recent.
From his famous “Wales, Golf, Madrid, In that other” debacle to his future at the club, a cloud of uncertainty has clouded the Welshman of late.
Bale has not featured since injuring his ankle in the Copa del Rey 10 days ago as per AS.
The 30-year-old did some light training during the week and was expected to play some part in today’s earlier game against Atletico.
However, Zidane didn’t include the the 30-year-old in his 19-man squad and that even led to further uncertainty.
Asked in his post-match press conference if Bale was left out due to a fitness issue, Zidane said: “He was available. When it came to deciding, I picked others.”
And when it was put to him that the 30-year-old’s status at Real could be affected by being excluded from Saturdays’s game, he said: “No, not at all.
“He’s fine and I’ll continue to count on him until the end.”
