Reinaldo Rueda talked to Alexis Sanchez about lack of goals

Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez is in bad form right now.

The Manchester United footballer has scored only once in seven matches in the 2018-2019 English Premier League season.

And he also hasn’t played for his country since March of this year. Now everything can change.

Chile national team manager Reinaldo Rueda says he hopes to select Sanchez for the friendly game against Mexico.

The former Arsenal midfielder knows the player is a true Gunners footballer, but that his work problems should be solved before anything else.

“I talked with him about that. What we want is that we hope his experience and ability can contribute to the team with his share of goals,” Rueda was quoted by Four Four Two.

“And the important thing is that other players also score goals. The forwards have changed because they have not been in a good moment.”

“Alexis is a benchmark, an elite player and he always enjoys being with the national team, joining his team-mates and getting to know the younger ones,” he added.

“We hope he has a good game because we know that he has also had difficulties with his club. He has not had the continuity that we all expected for one reason or another.”
