Arsenal and Barcelona have reportedly reached an impasse over negotiations for signing Denis Suarez due to money issues
Manager Unai Emery coached Suarez at Sevilla and is understood to be keen on reuniting with him again in London.
But Marca reports that Arsenal are unable to meet Barcelona’s asking price of around 10 and 15 million euros, which has created a problem between the clubs.
Speaking in a press conference on Thursday, Emery confirmed that the Gunners will only be able to loan players during this month’s transfer window.
As a solution, Arsenal have allegedly proposed to take Suarez out on loan this month and pay for the 25-year-old at the end of the season.
Although Barcelona want the cash now with club president Josep Maria Bartomeu joining the negotiations after having promised Suarez a move this month.
The Spanish playmaker spent the early stages of his career at Celta Vigo and Manchester City before joining Barcelona in 2013.
After a season with the B team, Suarez moved to Emery’s Sevilla on a season-long loan deal and made 47 appearances under the Arsenal coach.
Villarreal then signed Suarez permanently in 2015 before Barcelona bought him back a year later.
However, with just six appearances under his belt this season, Suarez is keen to leave Camp Nou in search of regular football.
