Gareth Bale has made a key decision about his Real Madrid future and it may impact the Neymar deal.
Bale has made a decision that could be instrumental to his future. He has decided he will not leave Madrid unless it is to somewhere he chooses.
According to sports journal fourfourtwo.com, Real wanted to use him as a makeweight in a potential 200 million Euro deal to bring Neymar to the Santiago Bernabeu from PSG.
The 30 year -old Wales international, has decided he will not be forced out of the door. He still has three years left on his contract. Worth a reported 600,000 Euros a week. He is in no rush to take a pay cut.
Bale almost made a move to Chinese side Jiangsu Suning. The apparent pay would have been one million a week.
The problem was he had to go on a free transfer. The deal was almost signed and sealed. But for the Madrid board to pull the plug at the last minute.
There is considerable resentment from the Bale camp, at the way that deal collapsed.
Plus what they feel is public humiliation and disrespect towards him from manager Zinedine Zidane.
it was rumoured both Bayern Munich and his old club Tottenham have expressed an interest. Neither can come close to Bales wage demands.
Manchester United, perhaps the only club left that could pay his wages, turned the opportunity down.
Bale sees two options. Wait until the Chinese window reopens, and secure a lucrative deal there. Or wait to see if he can outlast Zidane.
The manager’s relationship with the board was thought to be solid.
But recent transfer disagreements have put tension on their relationship. Plus the preseason results have not been what you may say convincing.
A poor start and pressure on the Frenchman could see him walk again.
