Barcelona will reportedly make one last push to convince Paris Saint-Germain into selling wantaway star forward Neymar.
It’s no secret that Neymar wants out of France this summer in favour of a La Liga return. Currently, old club Barcelona and Real Madrid are attempting to strike a deal with PSG.
The Ligue 1 champions, though, have proven to be tricky negotiators for both Barcelona and Real. They’ve already rejected mega-money offers, which have included players to sweeten the deal.
But PSG are adamant that only the €222m in cash they used to sign Neymar in 2017 is acceptable. With such huge interest in the player, who still has another three years on his contract, the ball is very much in the Parisians’ corner.
Although time is beginning to run out as the European transfer window closes on September 2. So, if Neymar is to finally leave PSG, then something needs to happen soon as there’s just over a week left.
And it seems that Barcelona are thinking along the same lines based on Sport’s latest report. Apparently, the Catalan club will make one final all-out approach to convince PSG into a transfer agreement.
After seeing their loan offer go up in smoke, the Blaugrana intend to make a similar offer to the one Real Madrid allegedly offered this week.
Los Blancos president Florentino Perez made a huge bid on Thursday that consisted of €100m plus Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and Keylor Navas. But PSG’s resolve remained unwavering, and they promptly turned down the offer.
Still, Real’s latest attempt seems to have caused a swift in tactics over at Camp Nou. Whether it’s an inspired or panic move remains unknown, but Barcelona mean business.
Sport claims they will lodge this one last bid to PSG this weekend and hope to finalise things on Monday.
Barcelona plan to include two players, whose value will amount up to €100m, which could include Ivan Rakitic. While the cash offer wasn’t specified, previous reports have alleged they would pay up to €150m for Neymar.
Once PSG receive Barcelona’s bid on Monday, club president Josep Maria Bartomeu wants Neymar to push them into accepting it so he can seal a long-awaited Camp Nou comeback.
