Barcelona have reportedly given Ousmane Dembele an ultimatum over his future after turning up late for another training session.
Dembele’s two seasons at Barcelona have seen him produce moments of pure brilliance alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez as part of a front three at Camp Nou.
The 22-year-old forward’s rapid rise up in the football world convinced Barcelona to splash out €105m in the summer of 2017 to replace the Paris Saint-Germain bound Neymar.
Despite winning back-to-back La Liga titles, hamstring and ankle problems have somewhat spoilt Dembele’s time at Camp Nou. This caused him to sit out of most of his debut campaign before spending more time sidelined last season.
Nonetheless, the French World Cup winner has still made 65 appearances. While he has also supplied Barcelona with 18 goals and 17 assists.
But, for training anyway, Dembele seems to have a bit of a problem turning up on time – which has left club officials again fuming.
Just when the Catalan club thought the November saga of not showing up on time was behind them, Dembele is at again.
AS reported that the France international was a no-show for training in the build-up to Barcelona’s Copa del Rey final, which they lost 2-1 to Valencia.
The Spanish newspaper claims Dembele used a hamstring issue as his alibi. Apparently, he told club officials he went to do recovery work with a physiotherapist instead.
While Blaugrana manager Ernesto Valverde took no disciplinary action, the club board were having none of it and confronted the striker.
During the confrontation, Barcelona chiefs warned Dembele they will put him on the transfer list if he turns up late for training again.
