Report: Barcelona tell Neymar to state his intentions

Barcelona are reportedly waiting for Neymar to tell Paris Saint-Germain that he only wants to join them amid Real Madrid interest.

Neymar’s ongoing transfer saga shows no signs of ending anytime soon following the recent developments. It all started last week, when PSG sporting director Leonardo practically opened the door for his exit by stating talks are “more advanced than before”.

Now, Barcelona are preparing to rival their Clasico rivals Real Madrid for the world’s most expensive player. In light of this, PSG have apparently become greedy and set a €250m price tag.

This is set to be a big problem for Barcelona especially, with the club unable to gather the funds. Instead, the plan is to take Neymar out on a season-long loan and sign him permanently next summer.

Although talks continue to make no progress following a meeting on Tuesday between Barcelona and PSG representatives. Negotiations broke down as the French club suggested including Nelson Semedo and Philippe Coutinho in a €100m deal.

Report: Marseille fight back to beat Monaco 4-3

Marseille complete a sensational comeback to beat Monaco 4-3. It appears Monaco are consigned to another relegation battle this year, as they find themselves second...

But Mundo Deportivo claims that a twist has developed, which has now left Neymar with two choices – either speak up or forget about coming back.

The Catalan paper states that Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu has refused to attend a European Club Association meeting. He was set to arrive in Liverpool on Thursday along with PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.

However, Bartomeu has declined the opportunity to hold more Neymar talks with Al-Khelaïfi. He has instead decided to travel with the Barcelona squad for Friday’s La Liga opener at Athletic Bilbao.

Apparently, the Blaugrana board want Neymar to tell PSG that he only wants a Camp Nou return. They hope that it will strengthen their hand in negotiations with PSG ahead of the two and a half weeks left in the transfer window.
