Bayern Munich have reportedly decided to match Chelsea’s asking price and lodge a £35m bid for Callum Hudson-Odoi
The 18-year-old winger has a host of admirers from Germany with reports suggesting an exit from Chelsea could be imminent due to a lack of playing time.
In fact, Hudson-Odoi has only managed 42 minutes of Premier League football this term with the majority of his appearances coming in cup competitions.
Now Sky Sports reports that Bayern have allegedly made a fourth bid of £35m for Hudson-Odoi, which does not include a buy-back clause for Chelsea.
The reports adds that Bayern’s latest offer does match Chelsea’s valuation of the England U19 international, who has apparently told the club he wants to leave.
Speaking after Chelsea’s 2-0 FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest, however, manager Maurizio Sarri expressed his wish for Hudson-Odoi to remain where he is and suggested a move to Germany may not be wise.
“I don’t think so, because he is an English player,” said Sarri.
“He is very young, he has the future. He has a very great future here in England, with the national team and Chelsea. To stay here is better for him.
“I know only that for me he is a very important player. He is very young but now he is improving especially in the defensive phase.
“He played really very well in the last match. I am really very happy with him. I don’t know the situation with the club.”
Juventus and RB Leipzig are also reportedly interested in signing Hudson-Odoi.
