Bojan Krkic has signed for the Montreal Impact on a free transfer.
According to ESPN, he has signed a contract until the end of the next MLS season, December 2020.
The former Barcelona player was released by Stoke City of the English Championship.
He was once hailed as the future of Barcelona, and the heir apparent to Lionel Messi.
A product of La Masia, he never really fulfilled his potential anywhere he went.
His travels included time at Roma, Milan, Ajax, and Stoke.
The later have also loaned him out to Mainz and Alaves during his five-year stay with the Potters.
He has plenty of silver wear to his name from his exploits, including a treble season with Barca and an Eredivisie tile from Ajax.
He will now get the opportunity to reignite his career in the MLS. Compared to the levels Krkic has played at, the MLS should be an easy adjustment for him.
The trick for Bojan now though is to stay fit. He has been troubled by numerous injuries throughout his career.
This has perhaps been a major stumbling block to him developing any kind of consistent form.
There was never aby doubt about his talent and potential. The problem has been living up to it.
At 28 years of age, he is relatively young in modern-day footballing terms.
But gone are the days of superstars of old simply going stateside for a pay day.
While there are those that see out their careers in the MLS. Be under no illusion the American standards of football are ever-increasing.
The clubs there are attracting some real quality players.
