Zlatan Ibrahimovic shows no signs of slowing down, even at 38, as the Swede is looking for new challenges ahead of the new year.
Ibrahimovic’s contract with LA Galaxy expires this January, thus making him the free agent, in which many clubs are interested.
The latest club rumored to be interested in the Swede of Bosnian descent is Bologna led by Sinisa Mihajlovic.
A big part of this could be Ibrahimovic and Mihajlovic’s friendship, but that’s not the end of it.
Joey Saputo, the owner of Bologna, also owns the MLS franchise Montreal Impact, and he was impressed by Ibra’s performances in North America.
This prompted him to offer up to €8 million for an 18-month contract running up to the summer of 2021 for Ibrahimovic, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Ibra will have a hard time rejecting an offer like this. However, there is a catch.
Given that Bologna cannot afford €8 million even in their dreams, Saputo already started looking for potential sponsors to make this deal happen.
The competition is big, with Napoli already expressing serious interest in the current LA Galaxy star.
Ibrahimovic scored 31 goals in the same amount of appearances this season in the MLS, thus confirming he ages like fine wine.
