Now that placing a price-tag on coveted players has become a tendency, Chelsea decided to do it with Eden Hazard: €110 million if he wants to leave.

The winter transfer market is getting more heated up for clubs like Real Madrid, as Los Blancos are still deciding whether they want players like Eden Hazard or Harry Kane.

It was just last weekend when Tottenham Hotspur put the price-tag of €350 million for striker Harry Kane after a meeting with Real Madrid officials took place in London before Christmas, this time Chelsea decided to send a message via a report from The Telegraph.

The English news outlet issued a report that confirms the Belgian winger could go out of Chelsea soon if any club decided to come after him, but we all know that Real Madrid is the most interested squad to buy the player.

Despite the constant speculation about Chelsea requesting an insane amount of money for the player, they are showing good will towards him because of all the titles he has helped the club win during his time with them.

Hazard previously mentioned that he wouldn’t leave if Chelsea didn’t come out on top of the negotiation for him, which was also received well amongst the club’s board of directors.

President Florentino Perez was adamant in signing Hazard last summer when he led Belgium to the World Cup semifinals, but the initial price that Chelsea requested was above €200 million and Perez refused to pay such a massive sum of cash for the player regardless of how talented he was at the moment.

The English club had the hope of winning more trophies under new manager Maurizio Sarri, he promised them to compete for all the titles they would play this season with Eden Hazard as their top player.

The new project really excited Eden, which is why he stated a few times that he wouldn’t leave the club any time soon.

But things have changed for the Blues within the span of only a few months, they have practically stepped down from the title race as they are currently 10 points behind leaders Liverpool and Hazard has quickly understood that winning more important trophies may not be so easy in England anymore.

The reason Paul Pogba isn’t at Real Madrid right now

After Paul Pogba's comments about Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane, we explain to you the reason why he isn't already playing for Los Blancos. It...

The top target for Hazard is to win the Champions League sometime before his career comes to an end, he just realized that Chelsea might not be the place where he can achieve that goal and time is running out.

Now that Chelsea has put this price-tag on their top player, this is a direct message to Florentino that invites him to make an offer for next summer.

The Belgian winger finishes his contract with Chelsea in 2020, this means that next summer will be the last chance for the Blues to ask for a fair price for Hazard and Real Madrid might be the only other club that the player would agree to go to.

To those who are not aware, if a player doesn’t renew his contract in time with his club and such contract expires, any squad in the world can take said player free of charge because he would be considered a free agent.

Chelsea doesn’t want this scenario to happen, which is why they have decided to make things easier for Real Madrid and let Florentino Perez finally accept that he does need a player as talented as Eden Hazard on his squad.

As it is commonly said in Basketball terms, “the ball is on Real Madrid’s court”. It is Los Blancos turn to make a move, they have a big chance to bring one of the best players in the world to their ranks for a fair price.
