According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Chelsea are considering throwing their hat in the ring for Adrien Rabiot’s signature and could hijack his move to Barcelona.

L’Equipe reports that Chelsea are considering to buy out Rabiot’s last six months contract at PSG.

The West London club is in the market for a central midfielder after Cesc Fabregas joined AS Monaco on Friday.

Calgiari’s Nicolo Barella and Zenit St Petersburg’s Leandro Paredes had been touted as possible replacement for Fabregas, but with the latest development, Chelsea won’t hesitate to swoop in.

Azpilicueta says Chelsea must aim to finish top four

The Chelsea captain says his team cannot afford to believe they can win the UEFA Europa League in order to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Rabiot also represents a cheaper alternative for the Blues, as he’s out of contract at PSG in the summer.

However, the Frenchman claims he has already agreed personal terms with Barcelona and is set to move to Nou Camp in the summer.

Whether he’ll be willing to ply his trade in the Premier League under Maurizio Sarri is left to be seen, but it seems like a great deal for Chelsea.
