Dani Ceballos is reportedly hopeful of making his stay at Arsenal a permanent one ahead of crunch talks with Real Madrid over his future.
With opportunities almost non-existant at Real Madrid, Ceballos swapped the famous white jersey for the red and white one of Arsenal’s in the summer for a season-long loan deal.
The 23-year-old has since made an impressive start to life in the demanding Premier League. He’s already established himself in the Arsenal midfield with five starts in his eight league appearances.
Ceballos’ impressive performances in London, in fact, have won him a spot back in the Spanish national team.
While many pundits and Gunners supporters alike have favourably compared him to old star playmaker Santi Cazorla.
And it turns out that the fans may be for another welcome treat as El Desmarque claim that Ceballos wants out of Real. Apparently, he would rather extend his stay with Arsenal than return to Spain next summer.
As his loan deal is only valid for this season with no buy option, however, Arsenal will need to renegotiate with Los Blancos.
Helping their cause will be Ceballos’ upcoming meeting with Florentino Perez this week. He allegedly plans to confirm to the Real president his plans to seal a long-term stay in the Premier League.
And, with Zinedine Zidane keen on signing the likes of Paul Pogba and Christian Eriksen, Ceballos thinks there is no future for him at the Santiago Bernabeu anymore.
Perez may also be willing to sell the Spaniard to Arsenal for €35m despite preferring around €40m.
Previously, Real signed up him in the summer of 2017 from Real Betis during Zidane’s first spell in charge. However, the €18m recruit struggled to gain favour under the Frenchman before his shock exit in May 2018.
With Zidane out of the way, things did improve for Ceballos before the coach unexpectedly returned in March.
