Report: Dembele will not be leaving Barca

Ousmane Dembele has no intention of leaving Barcelona.

According to a report from Goal.com, a statement from the player’s agent insists he is staying in Catalonia.

The 22-year-old French international arrived from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017, for a fee of 125 million Euros.
His time at Barcelona has been marred by injuries and an inability to replicate the form he showed in the Bundesliga.
His statistics are similar at both clubs.
At Dortmund, he scored 10 goals and had 22 assists from 50 games. At Barcelona he has 18 goals and 17 assists from 66 games.
The plan was that he would flourish under the Barca way and kick on to the next level in his game. That has just not happened for the player.
While it is widely believed he does feature in Ernesto Valverde’s plans. His proneness to injury has become somewhat frustrating for the club.
With Messia and Suarez out injured, Valverde had hoped to be able to call on the young Frenchman to step up.
Instead, Dembele has picked up another injury, that rules him out for up to five weeks.
There has been talk this summer of a move away from the Camp Nou. With several big clubs chasing his signature as well as a makeweight as part of a Neymar deal.
Either way, the player is apparently intent on staying and fighting for his place. He has the ambition to succeed at Barcelona and will not give up so easily.
His agent Moussa Sissoko said:

“I wanted to clarify firmly and definitively the situation of Ousmane Dembele.”

“He has not planned on leaving FC Barcelona even for a moment.”

“This is the course of action set for several months now and no element is or will be likely to make us deviate from it.”

“Ousmane feels perfectly well within the club and he remains determined to impose himself in the long term.”
