Idrissa Gueye is happy with life at PSG after exchanging Merseyside for Paris this summer.

Idrissa Gueye made a 30 million Euro switch this summer from Everton to Paris Saint Germain.

The 28-year-old Senegal international was familiar with Ligue 1 after plying his trade with Lille.

He made the switch to English football in 2015 moving to Aston Villa. He stayed there for one year, before a three-year spell with Everton.

The transfer from Everton to PSG was perhaps a surprise. Many criticised him and called it a money move.

After all, Gueye was not the usual prestigious superstar we are used to seeing Nasser Al-Khelaifi and the Qatar Sports Investment  Group.

It was seen by many that he would assume the role more of a squad player. Coming in to fill in the gaps and give the superstars rest.

Especially domestically against lower-level opposition.

On the contrary, he has been a key player in his role as a defensive midfielder.

He has already made six Ligue 1 appearances, and two in the UEFA Champions League.

He just capped off his amazing start to life with PSG, by scoring his first goal.

Speaking to French Network Canal +, he spoke of the all-round team performance and his joy of playing at PSG.

He said:

“Today was a successful performance. We attacked well and defended well. We wanted to play well and that’s what we did.”

“We want to give the maximum and satisfy the fans.”

“Paris have not conceded any goal with me playing. It’s the work of the whole team.”

“It’s not just me and the defenders who are doing a good job and the attackers who are doing their part.”

“It’s important to continue like this.”

“And I’m happy to be part of this team.”

But apparently there are no words that will suffice to the joy this player has in silencing his doubters.
