Zlatan Ibrahimovich has revealed that if United needed him he would answer the call.

In an interview conducted by the Press Association’s Simon Peach, and reported by 101goals, the former United man says he would help if they need him.

Ibrahimovich came to United probably 10 years too late in his career from United’s point of view.

However, for a player deemed to be in the twilight of his career, he was still a phenomenon.

Zlatan Ibrahimovich has always been one of those enigmatic characters of the footballing world. His list of previous employers is akin to a list of footballing royalty.

Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan, Paris Saint Germain, Manchester United and now LA Galaxy.

It ha been by no means plain sailing, but score goals where ever he has been has always been his trademark.

His has mustered up 732 appearances, scoring 447 goals and has 170 assists in his club career.

In an 18 month spell at United, he managed 53 appearances and scored 29 goals with 10 assists.

But for a serious knee injury that ruled him out for 7 months, the tally would have certainly been greater, United’s success would have perhaps been greater and the man may have even still been there.

He left United for LA. The idea was that the MLS was a little easier and less competitive than the Premier League.

That may be the case. Ibrahimovich has played 22 games in all competitions and 22 goals this season alone. For a 37-year-old in any league of professional football that is truly amazing.

Zlatan feels he is fully recovered from his knee injury, and could still play in the Premier League if he wanted to.

He said:

“I could easily play in the Premier League. If Man United need me I’m there.”

He still keeps a keen eye on the happenings in Manchester, and even has regular contact with former teammate Paul Pogba giving him advice.
He added:

United fans must surely be wondering what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is waiting for?
