Mauro Icardi is apparently staying at Inter Milan.

According to Football Italia, the player who has been exiled to train alone for some time has now been recalled to first-team training.

This followed a post by his outspoken wife and agent Wanda Nara.

It has been a summer, of talk that he has no place at Inter anymore. lats season he was stripped of the club captaincy and removed from the first-team squad.

He was offered as part of the Romelu Lukaku deal, United was not interested.

There have been plenty of names liked with the 26-year-old Italian centre-forward. but little has come to fruition.

Much of the gossip and on-off deals have come via his wife and agent. Apparently, any move had to suit both his and her careers.

Monaco and Napoli were the two front runners. She publicly said “no” to the French principality.

While also said that Naples was not good for her career.

It is believed that Juventus and the city of Turin was their dream destination. But the Bianconeri just were not interested.

Further to what appears to be an attempt at mending bridges and a truce between the club and player. Mrs. Icardi also made a rather cryptic post on social media.

A picture of herself with the other player’s wives of Inter Milan, celebrating at a party. With the comment “Another year together.”

Following the social media revelation and the player’s reintroduction to the first team by Antonio Conte, there came a press conference comment from Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com,  when asked about the player and his possible transfer.

He said:

“Icardi? I’m not interested in the story, the club thinks about it.”

“We have competent directors, I only think about the team and tomorrow we have an important and difficult start.”

It appears the arrival of Lozano at Napoli has ended any possible Icardi move there.

With the will he won’t he loan deal for Alexis Sanches still no nearer conclusion.

Maybe Inter and Conte have decided that Icardi will do for now?
