Inter Milan are top of Serie A after beating Udinese to make it three wins out of three.
Antonio Conte’s career at Inter Milan, could not have started better. His record reads played three won three.
While the scoreline and performance, do make for amazing reading, a win is a win. Conte will take it and be happy to have the early advantage over Juventus.
It was a 44th-minute goal from Stefano Sensi that broke the deadlock.
Sensi’s goal was a sublime header. He latched onto a cross from Diego Godin.
It turned out to be the only goal of the game, that saw Inter have 22 shots on goal, to Udinese’s six.
The Milan team dominated possession as you would expect to play at home, with 65 %.
Udinese’s cause was not helped, by the sending off of midfielder Rodrigo De Paul. He was shown a straight red card for slapping Antonio Candreva.
According to Camciomercato, Sensi was a happy man after the game.
“I’m happy for the goal, because it’s always a unique emotion, especially in front of the fans.”
“It was a tactic that the coach asked us to do: we tried it during the week.”
“Udinese are a tough team, I am happy for the win even though some races have to be finished off quicker. We think match by match.”
“Tonight, let’s celebrate this victory, but tomorrow we will reset our head because we have to prepare for another great game. We just have to do well.”
“Now the difficulties are increasing: we will have a good month soon. We will have to stay focused: mental energies are those that make you stay lucid.”
He has bee compared to Barcelona legend Andreas Iniesta.
“Iniesta comparisons? I’m glad to be compared to Iniesta for me is an emotion and a stimulus to do more. But I have to keep my feet on the ground.”
