Loris Karius reportedly sought a move away from Liverpool this summer after losing the support of his teammates
The German goalkeeper made two critical errors in May’s 3-1 Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.
Afterwards, Karius broke down in tears on the pitch at Kiev and apologised to everyone at the club for his high-profile errors.
Many of his Liverpool teammates rose to the 25-year-old’s defence shortly afterwards.
But now the Daily Mirror claims that Karius began to lose the support of the Reds squad when he featured in a professionally-produced Instagram video just over a month later.
The footage showed Karius going about without a care in the world.
While the Instagram post has since been taken off, apparently the damage was already done with the level of trust between Karius and his teammates disintegrating.
Due to this, Karius sought to put an end to his year’s stay at Anfield and signed an initial two-year loan deal with Besiktas with the option to make it permanent in 2020.
