Manchester United have reportedly made the first move in a three-way battle with Tottenham and Juventus for Fulham wonder kid Ryan Sessegnon.
Sessegnon, who celebrates his 19th birthday today, has already made 115 appearances for Fulham ever since making his first-team in August 2016 in a Carabao Cup match.
The England U-21 international has since gone on to establish himself at Craven Cottage, with his superb displays earning him praise from Premier League legend Alan Shearer.
Multiple media outlets across Europe have labelled Sessegnon as one of the top-20 most promising young players in world football.
The left-footed teenager, who can play as either a full-back or winger, is renown for his devasting pace and ability to read the game. He’s also been praised for his clever little tricks and his sense of movement.
In his first season of Premier League football, Sessegnon managed to impress despite his irregular opportunities at the relegated Fulham who underwent three managerial changes.
The 19-year-old was mostly used as a left winger and ended his first campaign in the English top-flight with two goals and six assists in 35 games.
But it’s understood Sessegnon isn’t keen on returning to the Championship and is prepared to leave boyhood side Fulham.
Therefore, Sky Sports reported that United have made a formal approach for Sessegnon. While Spurs and Juventus are also keen on the promising youngster.
The teenager’s current market value is at €35m, despite the fact he only has another 13 months left on his current contract at Fulham.
Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff, Swansea City’s Daniel James and Lyon’s Moussa Dembele have all been linked with moves to Old Trafford themselves recently.
