Manchester United are reportedly willing to listen to offers for Romelu Lukaku in the summer, with the striker allegedly open to a departure.
After completing a £75m transfer from Everton in 2017, Lukaku opened up his account for United by scoring 27 goals in 51 appearances last season.
It was a relatively decent first campaign for the Belgian by his usual high standards, but maybe not quite what the Old Trafford chiefs had hoped upon breaking the bank to land his signature.
Following the club’s decision to replace Jose Mourinho with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Lukaku has found his spot in the line-up as United’s main centre-forward under serious threat from Marcus Rashford.
The 21-year-old’s profile has grown exponentially under Solskjaer, with comparisons even being made to Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe.
Hence, the Telegraph have reported that Lukaku’s time at United is apparently nearing its end as the club are prepared to sell him at the right price.
Solskjaer is set to ruthlessly embark on a massive overhaul of the squad, with Lukaku set to be one of the players shown the door at Old Trafford.
Inter Milan, Paris St-Germain and Bayern Munich have all been reportedly linked with moves for the 25-year-old.
Lukaku’s representative, Federico Pastorello, had actually spoken out earlier this month on his client’s future by stating that he’s “very open” to a move to Italy.
In total, the Belgian striker has managed 42 goals and 13 assists in 93 matches for United over the past two seasons.
Former Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez is also reportedly set to leave the Red Devils in the summer.
Meanwhile, Solskjaer has already confirmed that captain Antonio Valencia will be leaving them at the end of the season.
Paul Pogba, Matteo Darmian, Marcos Rojo, Ander Herrera and Juan Mata are the other stars whose futures remain in doubt.
Although Mata’s father did recently confirm that his son has received a new contract offer.
