Inter Milan colours will fly high in Milan after defeating arch-rivals AC in the derby.
Inter Milan have bragging rights in Milan after beating AC 2-0 in the Derby Della Madonnina.
In the grander scheme of things, more importantly for Inter, is they remain top of Serie A with their 100% record intact.
The first chance of the day, fell to Inter, when Romelu Lukaku was through on goal, with only Gianluigi Donnarumma to beat.
But a great one-handed save from the young Italian international kept the score at 0-0.
Only moments later, Danilo D’Ambrosio could have opened the scoring for Inter only to also be denied by the upright, after Donnarumma made another fine save from a Lautaro Martinez shot.
After 21 minutes, Inter had registered three attempts on goal to AC’s zero. it was, unfortunately, a sign of things to come for Marco Giampaolo’s side.
In what was a rare venture to the Inter goal, Inter were undone, only for AC Milan to be denied by a handball in the build-up.
Hakan Calhanoglu put the ball in the net for Milan, only for the referee to call play back after judging there to be a handball from Franck Kessie in the build-up.
At the other end, Inter had their own disallowed goal too.
D’Ambrosio launched a spectacular overhead kick, to which Donnarumma was up to an equally spectacular save. Martinez out the rebound in the back of the net, only to be ruled out for being offside.
Both sides went in at the half with the game all square. A goal disallowed each and the score 0-0 at half time.
Antonio Conte will have been the happier of the two managers in terms of performance at the half but disappointed his team did not capitalise on a poor Milan backline.
The second half saw much of the same, Inter dominance.
This time though, only four minutes into the second half, there was no mistake from Inter and Marcelo Brozovic.
In the 49th minute, Brozovic struck the ball from the edge of the 18-yard box. Donnarumma thought he had the shot covered, only to be undone by a cruel deflection off his own player Rafael Leao.
Inter guaranteed all three points and title of Champions of Milan when former Manchester United man and big summer signing Romelu Lukaku headed the ball into the back of the net to make it 2-0 to Inter.
Inter could have had more, with Politano hitting the crossbar, Candreva striking the upright.
Milan almost got themselves a consolation goal, when Theo Hernandez hit the frame of the goal too.
The final score was AC Milan 0- Inter Milan 2.
The Rossoneri have had a poor start under Marco Giampaolo, having lost two of the opening four games of Serie A.
Worse still, is that in a home game, AC Milan only registered one shot on goal now, and whereas Conte’s signings are producing, Giampaolos can’t even make the team.
