Milinkovic-Savic has never wanted to and has no intention of leaving Lazio.
According to Italian football newsagency, Calciomercato.com leaving Rome has never been something he has wanted to do.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Lazio midfielder, was rumoured for the last two summers, to be on the shopping list of several big clubs.
It was rumoured last year Manchester United were priced out of a move for him. This summer, again United and also PSG wanted the tough-tackling midfielder.
The Serbian international midfielder has been heavily linked with a move away from the Biancocelesti. However after his latest interview, it appears he will not be leaving any time soon, nor has he never wanted to leave.
Milinkovic-Savic said: “I never said I wanted to leave Lazio.”
“I feel good here.”
“I never mentioned a possible transfer to Manchester United and it was just paper talk.”
“New commitments await me with Lazio.”
There has been talk of Juventus and Real Madrid also showing an interest.
Last year Lazio priced the player at 100 million Euros. That followed an explosive season in Serie A.
His last season was not quite so dramatic in terms of statistics and saw his stock drop slightly.
No doubt having already shown what he is capable of. There will be more rumours and talk next summer.
The 24-year-old has played 202 senior games in his career so far. He has found the back of the net 40 times, with 20 assists.
In his 3 years at Lazio, he has played 162 times, scored 31 goals and had 18 assists.
You can see with a resume like that why he is valued so highly by his club and in such demand from Europe’s elite.
