According to Gianluca Di Marzio, infamous agent Mino Raiola has been spotted in Paris to seal Matthijs de Ligt’s transfer with PSG.

After so many weeks of speculation about Matthijs de Ligt’s future out of AFC Ajax, it looks like agent Mino Raiola finally closed a deal with PSG.

The infamous agent has been working all the angles he can in order to get the best deal for his client, Matthijs de Ligt.

The player is coming from an incredible season both for his club and country at the tender age of 19, he was one of the most coveted players in the transfer market during the summer.

The several clubs that were courting him were FC Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Initially, Frenkie de Jong’s arrival to the Catalan club earlier this year was the reason De Ligt saw Spanish football as a great option.

The problem here was that the Catalan club didn’t guarantee a starting place in the squad, this is the main reason that the player backed down from the initial offer the club made and started looking for other options.

Other clubs like Manchester United offered a lot more money for this player, but not competing in the Champions League is a major problem for De Ligt.

Juventus was a very appealing choice for the kid as well, even Cristiano Ronaldo attempted to convince him last Sunday after the UEFA Nations League final.

PSG seems like the most obvious option.

Despite the many offers he had on the table, Matthijs de Ligt appeared to have the choices between FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

However, a development took place this week in the French city.

Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio’s team spotted the agent in the Paris airport, apparently he landed there to meet with Antero Henrique in order to close the deal for the young Dutchman.

If De Ligt ultimately decides to play for the French giants, his arrival could be a great motivation for other stars such as Kylian Mbappe or Neymar to remain at the club and not leave to other countries.

Matthijs de Ligt is one of the best defenders in the world and PSG would be considered an instant title contender if they completed his transfer.

According to Di Marzio, Raiola is set to close a deal before the end of the week and he would be announced at the start of the next one.

However, there is also a major possibility that this is another tactic from Mino in order to get a better deal in another club.

The player has been following his agent’s instructions perfectly this week, as he has given mixed signals to the press that angered the FC Barcelona board of directors.

Barcelona is tired of waiting for De Ligt.

Di Marzio’s information lines up perfectly with another report from Diario Sport, which comes out in the outlet’s paper cover this Wednesday.

The club’s board hasn’t spoken to De Ligt in weeks, they are still waiting for a response to their initial €75 million offer that was presented in April.

The recent information about De Ligt listening to other options is what ended the board’s patience, the player is slowly moving away from Camp Nou.

This could be one of the biggest blows in the transfer market because the Catalan club had very high hopes of signing Matthijs this summer.

Apparently, the player’s counselors have been telling him that he should sign for a club that isn’t considered one of the best in the world yet.

The main plan is to play in a team such as Manchester United or PSG for three years an elevate his market value.

By the time De Ligt is the very best defender in the world, FC Barcelona or Real Madrid won’t have a choice but to pay in insanely elevated transfer fee for the player.

However, this strategy could backfire because Barcelona’s patience is running out.

Many board members and fans feel that De Ligt is toying with them, this behavior is not very appreciated in a club as powerful as this one.
