Report: Neymar could make his comeback for PSG this weekend

Neymar is reportedly in contention to make his long-awaited return for Paris Saint-Germain ahead of Sunday’s potential Ligue 1 title decider.

The 27-year-old has been sidelined for nearly four months after sustaining another metatarsal injury in his right foot during PSG’s 2-0 Coupe de France win over Strasbourg.

In Neymar’s absence, the Parisians have gone crashing out of the Champions League and were handed humbling defeats at the hands of Lille OSC and Nantes in their past two Ligue 1 outings.

This has denied Thomas Tuchel’s side a chance to wrap up the Ligue 1 crown, with the German offering his players no excuses following Tuesday’s night loss at Nantes.

“There was no performance, no performance at all. So it was impossible to win,” he said on Tuesday.

“We can lose, we can do mistakes, and we [the club] will always defend players if they play with a good mentality, with desire and as a team.

“I always defend my players, but today it’s not possible.”

But L’Équipe has reported that Tuchel looks set to receive a welcome boost in firepower for Sunday’s clash against AS Monaco in the return of Neymar.

Marquinhos baffled by Mbappe’s transfer bombshell

Marquinhos doesn't understand what led team-mate Kylian Mbappe to drop such a big hint on leaving Paris Saint-Germain.

Apparently, the Brazilian forward is nearly ready to make his comeback after returning to training earlier this month. He will take a late fitness test before the Monaco game to determine his availability.

Prior to his injury, Neymar had managed 20 goals and 11 assists in 23 appearances across all competitions this season.

A draw is all that’s required for PSG to be confirmed as Ligue 1 champions on Sunday unless second-place Lille fail to defeat Toulouse in their match earlier in the day.

Marquinhos and Ángel Di María are also expected to be welcomed back to the PSG team this weekend, while former Monaco star Kylian Mbappe could be restored to the line-up after being rested at Nantes.
