Report: Neymar willing to take a pay-cut to secure move

Neymar is so desperate to leave PSG, he will take a huge pay cut.

According to BBC Sport, Neymar is willing to take an enormous pay cut to secure his move away to Barcelona.

It is believed that the Brazilian favours a return to the Camp Nou. But it is also suggested that he would take up the option of Real Madrid if it meant getting out of Paris.

The apparent pay cut he is will to take is 15 million Euros.

At the moment it doesn’t really matter what the personal terms are. He is tied to PSG fro another three years on his current deal.

So unless they can come to an agreement with any suiter to pay them the 250 million Euro fee they are demanding. All the above is inconsequential.

Both Real and Barca have around 100 million Euros in cash to put with any deal. They are now throwing players into the mix as makeweights in any deal.

The reports seem to lean towards Barca trying to use Philippe Coutinho as there player plus cash. He is deemed surplus to requirements in Catalonia right now.

Other players have been suggested, but no deal is apparently close.

BBC’s reporter Guillem Balague said:

“The player is happy to reduce his wages from 38 million euros net to 23 million euros net.”

“It is an interesting situation in Barcelona. They feel they have to try really hard to get him back.”

“Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique, and Luis Suarez want him back.”

“But also the president Josep Maria Bartomeu has two more years in his mandate and he wants to leave a big legacy.”

“Can you imagine all those players that have been mentioned and Neymar as well?”

As we brought you earlier at Ronaldo.com, Neymar is training alone.

Whether this is a form of exile or treatment program remains to be seen. But he is definitely not part of the squad right now.

Let us not neglect the fact that Real Madrid is not out of the equation yet either. They are believed to have a similar amount of cash available.

They have offered numerous players. Including Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, even Luka Modric, and Vincivius Jr.

Neither Barcelona or Real Madrid have commented on the situation, which seems to change on an hourly basis.

When Ernesto Valverde was asked about Neymar, he said:

“Neymar belongs to PSG and we’ll see what happens but I can’t say anything more about him.”
