Antonio Conte has told Ivan Perisic he cannot play in his desired formation.

According to The Daily Mail, former in-demand winger Ivan Perisic has been told he surplus to requirements at the San Siro.

New Inter manager Antonio Conte is building a side to play his 3-5-2 formation. He does not believe that Perisic can serve any purpose in his new team.

The 30-year-old Croatian international was a one-time target for Manchester United and Arsenal.

After an outstanding World Cup. Helping his side to an amazing 2nd place finish. Perisic found his services in high demand.

Inter Milan fought hard to keep their star player. It seems quite bizarre that they are now willing to discard him so easily.

Inter and Conte want to spend big this summer. That means generating as much cash as possible and freeing up room on the wage bill.

They are apparently desperate to get rid of him. He is one of the clubs top earners and tied to a contract until 2022.

Last summer they demanded 50 million pounds for their then prized asset.

They were believed to have turned down a 40 million pound offer from United.

While in January Arsenal expressed interest in a possible loan deal. Inter declined that offer.

These are deals that Inter would snatch up right now. But both the Premier League teams appear to have moved on to other targets.

He has recently been linked with Monaco.
