Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel has reportedly made signing Julian Weigl a priority for this month’s transfer window
The 23-year-old midfielder has fallen behind summer recruit Axel Witsel in the Borussia Dortmund pecking order this season with just four Bundesliga appearances.
Weigl, who was previously linked with Manchester City, hasn’t shown the kind of form he demonstrated under Tuchel while he was in charge of Dortmund.
Now Le Parisien claims that Weigl is being lined up for a move to PSG this month with Tuchel allegedly keen on a reunion with his fellow German.
But Dortmund aren’t expected to welcome any such bid from PSG with sporting director Michael Zorc recently ruling out any winter exits for Weigl and USA star Christian Pulisic.
Although it’s understood that Tuchel has a budget of €30m to splash out on signings in this month’s transfer window.
After rising through the youth ranks at 1860 Munich, Weigl joined Dortmund in 2015 and has since made 132 appearances in all competitions.
The Germany international’s sole major honour at Signal Iduna Park came in the 2016/17 season where Dortmund won the DFB-Pokal Cup.
