Report: PSG’s Leonardo talks Neymar

PSG’s sports director Leonardo has spoken openly about Neymar. The transfer saga, his return, and the silence.

In an interview with RMC, reported by AS, Leonardo reflects on what has been an eventful few weeks.

From the on-off transfer saga of Neymar. To the public discontent from the fans towards the wantaway superstar.

Not a day has gone by where something Neymar has not been part of a story or two.

But the PSG sporting supremo is happy in that he was clear on all the goings-on and that his focus is the club and not individuals.

He feels a lot of what has transpired was brought on by the player himself.

He said:

“The matter was clear to everyone. Internally, it was clear. Everyone knew the situation, they knew what was happening.”

“Neymar has made mistakes yes, his situation is complicated yes, but because it is Neymar and he talks a lot.”

“Since it happened everything has had a very good game with Brazil. ”

“He returned to training, he behaved well. He played very well against Strasbourg, in silence.”

“After the story is amazing with a spectacular goal, it looked like Hollywood.”

Ibrahimovic weighs in on the Messi-Ronaldo debate

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has given his two cents towards the never-ending debate between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Leonardo is convinced, that Neymar is now focused on the task in hand.

“At the end of the game, he made good communication and was honest. Now he is in the PSG and thinks of PSG.”

“We cannot say that everything is arranged because things have happened.”

“But he played a very good game and was a great professional .”

“He is not a bad boy. It’s a football heritage. Having it with us makes us stronger.”

It appears even he has had enough of the Neymar stories and wants the focus on the club.

“You can’t create a soap opera. There is an internal regulation. We have solved past problems and today Neymar is here.”

“It’s time to stop talking about him. Let’s talk about PSG, only PSG.”
