Former Chelsea midfielder Ramires is reportedly closing in on a return to Benfica
The Brazil international enjoyed a successful year at the Portuguese giants in the 2009/10 season and helped Benfica win a domestic double.
After impressing at the Eagles, Ramires was sold to Chelsea for €22m in the summer of 2010.
But he has spent the past two-and-a-half seasons with Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning and has scored 17 times in 71 appearances.
Now Sport reports that the 31-year-old could return to the Estadio da Luz on a loan deal for the rest of the campaign.
Ramires, who is allegedly taking his medical today, could make the switch permanent next summer.
The Brazilian scored five goals in 42 games across all competitions during his sole season with Benfica.
Rui Vitoria’s side are currently third in the Primeira Liga table following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Sporting Lisbon.
