Sampdoria has fired their manager Eusebio Di Francesco after a poor start to the season.
Club president Massimo Ferrero had used social media after the weekend defeat to Hellas Verona, stating he would “reflect on the best interests of Sampdoria.”
That has sent the rumour mill into overdrive regarding the manager’s future.

Di Francesco was sacked earlier this year by Roma, and now four months after being hired by Sampdoria, he is sacked once again.
Di Francesco had signed a three year deal with the club back in June.
His record at the club is quite dismal.
They have played seven and lost six.
The Blucerchiati is rooted firmly to the bottom of Serie A, with only three points out of a possible 21.
A statement from the club through their official website, Sampdoria.it.
The statement read:
“The president Massimo Ferrero and Sampdoria announce they have reached a mutual agreement with Eusebio Di Francesco and his technical staff to end their professional relationship.”
“The president and his colleagues thank Di Francesco and his staff for their work.”
Di Francesco was hired as the replacement for Marco Giampaolo, who moved to AC Milan after Sampdoria had a remarkable season.
They finished ninth in last years league and reached the dizzying heights of fifth at one point.
Those kinds of results prompted the Rossoneri to poach him. Giampaolo has struggled at the San Siro and is at risk of being fired himself.
Gazzetta Dello Sport claims, that Di Francesco will receive a 1.8 million Euro payoff for the early termination of his contract.
There are a couple of hot rumours regarding possible successors.
Sky Sport Italia, claims that Beppe Iachini, the man responsible for their return to Serie A back in 2012 is the hot favorite.
While goal.com claims that with Milan set to sack Giampaolo over the international break, they are merely waiting to reappoint him.
