According to an explosive report from Diario AS, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur held talks about Harry Kane’s possible transfer next summer.

Just when we thought that Florentino Perez was done making insane offers for players we get a report that reveals otherwise, Diario AS just revealed that Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur actually held talks for a possible Harry Kane transfer from the Premier League to La Liga.

This might actually be the resolutive player that Los Blancos’ president had been waiting for, as the report confirms that a Real Madrid high-ranking official traveled to London to speak directly to chairman Daniel Levy about the possibility.

The meetings were held right before Christmas and even a price-tag was set for the player, a staggering €350 million that would transform Kane into the most expensive player in football history.

Back in 2017, Paris Saint-Germain paid €222 million to FC Barcelona for Neymar and the whole market went upside down.

This inflation on the price-tag for every single player in Europe is something that a tough negotiator like Levy really loves, he already has a history of making Florentino Perez suffer during the times of negotiations as he sold Luka Modric and Gareth Bale on the last day of the summer transfer window.

Other options for the position that were being considered by Los Blancos were Robert Lewandowski and Edinson Cavani, both of these players are past their thirties and wouldn’t be a huge challenge for the club to pursue.

At only 26-years old, Harry Kane still has his best years ahead of him and he is already a bonified life insurance in regards to scoring goals.

During the last five seasons, the England captain has kept a consistency of at least 30 goals per-season and he has only been increasing his numbers as time progresses.

In the 2016-2017 season we started getting that taste of what Harry Kane has fully become, as he scored an incredible 35 goals in 38 matches played in all competitions.

One year after that, the Englishman was forced to up his game by the likes of Mohamed Salah and scored 41 goals in 48 matches played in all competitions.

With the Premier League season right in the middle, Kane has already scored 20 goals in 30 matches and staying consistent will easily bring him to score 50 goals by the end of the current season in all competitions.

Opinion – Eden Hazard won’t stay at Chelsea

As Chelsea suffered defeat to Everton on Sunday, Eden Hazard will have looked around Goodison Park and thought deeply. The Belgian will see results like this as justification to move away from Stamford Bridge.

This player is exactly the type of goal-scorer that Real Madrid needs, especially during a time of renovation when the veterans are starting to feel the years getting the better of them.

Even Florentino Perez knows that his favorite striker, Karim Benzema, isn’t getting any younger and Harry Kane is the one who will come to shake things up competition-wise for the French forward.

In fact, Harry Kane’s arrival would relieve Karim of the pressure he’s been feeling and this could bring us back that vintage-Benzema who loved performing as a playmaker very close to another striker.

Kane has that virtue of understanding himself perfectly with other great players, Karim Benzema would be no different if the transfer was completed.

If this report turns out to be true, we would also have Florentino Perez going back to his old transfer policy of paying the most money for some of the best talents worldwide.

But that price-tag seems a little out of proportion for many Real Madrid fans who are looking closely into the possible negotiations, they consider that €350 million is too much money for any player.

But there are still some things to consider about this whole plan, mainly because Tottenham Hotspur is in no hurry to sell their franchise player soon and they want him to be the key figure in the club’s new stadium that should be inaugurated sometime during 2019.

Real Madrid on the other hand, is also going to wait and see how the current season ends in order to make strong decisions next summer. But the possibility has already been discussed.
