PSG manager Thomas Tuchel says Neymar is committed to Paris Saint Germain.

After an entire summer of Neymar wanting to leave PSG for a return to Barcelona, the Brazilian is now apparently committed to the cause in Paris.

He was the transfer saga of the summer window, the will he won’t he leave PSG.

The player had declared his desire to leave, the club confirmed it. There were negotiations, but PSG held the upper hand and their price was never met.

Neymar still has three years to run on his contract and is therefore stuck in Paris for the time being at least.

After picking up and injury at the Copa America, he returned to PSG unable to participate, add to that the transfer drama. He trained alone for almost three months.

The fans of PSG even turned against their one-time hero, displaying banners and chanting in regard to their hatred of the player.

However, once the transfer window closed, and Neymar recovered from injury, PSG manager Thomas Tuchel brought him back into the fold.

It was perhaps out of desperation after injuries to Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe.

But can anyone really afford to leave a player like Neymar out?

Last week he returned to competition in the Ligue 1 game against Strasbourg, only to come up with a spectacular injury-time winner.

While he did not make the midweek champions league fixture against Real Madrid, he did return against Lyon in the league this weekend.

Low and behold, he popped up again, with an 87th-minute winner.

In his post-match press conference, reported by Sky Sports, Tuchel said:

“He is 100 per cent with us. He is 100 per cent in the squad – he laughs and jokes and is reliable.”

“He is totally there with his team-mates. That is normal, as well as necessary. He is a very sensitive guy.”

“This is only his third match in four months.

“He will gain in physical capacity with the matches and this will help him.”

“Neymar is always decisive, he is always creative and he looks ahead.”

Thiago Silva told French channel Canal + he is in awe of his teammate capabilities.

He added:

“Ultimately, it was Neymar’s action [which made the difference].”

“On the pitch, I could not understand what he had done.”

“Sometimes, we say it is easy and that the defender has let him turn, but that was not easy.”

“In training, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe do incredible things and we profited from this phenomenon’s quality here.”
