According to journalist Quim Domenech from La Sexta’s El Chiringuito, Ernesto Valverde has already been notified that he is getting sacked by Barcelona.
Even though manager Ernesto Valverde was confirmed as the FC Barcelona manager after the Copa del Rey defeat, he might still get sacked.
The Txingurri manager has been constantly telling the press that he doesn’t feel like his position at the club is in jeopardy but the Catalan media apparatus says otherwise.
Several media outlets from Catalonia have constantly written about the possibility of manager Ernesto Valverde getting sacked.
Diario Sport was the outlet that reported Robert Martinez as the club’s most viable choice to replace the coach.
Nothing had been confirmed about Valverde’s future until today, there has been a report from El Chiringuito’s Quim Domenech.
The Catalan journalist wrote a Tweet in which he reports that FC Barcelona has already notified the manager that he is getting sacked before the end of the week.
This doesn’t come as a huge shock for the manager considering his results in two of the three competitions in which his squad underperformed.
Players like Lionel Messi or Gerard Pique expressed their support to the manager but results are what ultimately sentenced him.

Robert Martinez and Ronald Koeman, Barcelona’s real option.
We just wrote about the terrible idea that Massimiliano Allegri would be as the new Barcelona manager, there are far better options to take the job.
The one that Diario Sport reported is Robert Martinez, but the Belgium manager confirmed that he wouldn’t take the position unless he had time to discuss it with the Belgian FA first.
As far as Ronald Koeman goes, the Dutch manager is also coaching a national team right now and he wants to at least get through the UEFA Nations League tournament before making any decisions about his future.
FC Barcelona’s other options are Laurent Blanc, Erik ten Hag, and Quique Setien. But the club is really looking into both Martinez and Koeman, they will pick the one that becomes available faster.
Either of both managers has Johan Cruyff as their main source of inspiration, which is perfect for the FC Barcelona philosophy and exactly what the club is currently after.
The work to find the new boss will begin as soon as the club announces Ernesto Valverde’s exit from the club, which could be on Friday at the latest.
The Catalan club should publish an announcement in which they thank the Txingurri manager for his work at the club and wish him well in his future endeavors.

Valverde dug his own grave at Barcelona.
The most frustrating part of Ernesto Valverde’s fall from grace at Barcelona can be told by looking at his last month.
The Txingurri manager came from defeating Liverpool at CampNou in the Champions League semifinal’s first-leg, but everything started falling apart at Anfield.
The squad was deeply affected by this elimination and Valverde’s task was to motivate the players in order to win the Copa del Rey final against Valencia.
Winning this trophy would secure Valverde’s position at the club but losing it would be a complete disaster.
We all know what happened during that final, the players are partly to blame for this new defeat but Valverde is the man responsible.
The club’s board expressed that the manager wasn’t to blame for this new setback, but we all know how football works.
It was only a matter of days before the club reached a recision, Ernesto Valverde simply can’t spend more time as the Barcelona manager.
The last two seasons proved that this coach is not qualified to take a club with this quality all the way to the top in European football.
Ernesto had two chances to reach the target and he simply didn’t make the cut. It’s time for another manager to try his capabilities at the Catalan club.
Regardless of how much the Barcelona president confirms him as the manager, the pressure will be too much to handle.
