It was the Zlatan Ibrahimovich show yet again in the MLS as he bags a brace in the LA derby.
Two early goals from the former Manchester United man, saw his side take an early lead.
But the game ended all square after another MLS scoring sensation Carlos Vela bagged the 53rd-minute equaliser.
According to Sky Sports News, all the talk is however about Ibrahimovich. He has never lost a game he has played against LAFC.
It was a game between two of the most prolific players the MLS has to offer, and it did not fail to deliver.
The LA derby, titled locally El Trafico, was a six-goal thriller. But Ibrahimovich took only two minutes to leave his mark on the game.
Ibrahimovich said after the game:
“What can I say? I enjoy it when I play against them. I enjoy to play in this stadium.”
Ibrahimovich had the opportunity to celebrate his goals in front of the opposition fans, just to add a little more spice to the occasion.
“If they don’t beat us, they don’t beat us.”
He was however disappointed that his team could not get the win. The Galaxy was leading 3-1 at one point. But allowed LAFC back into the game and able to salvage a draw.
Zlatan loves one thing just as much as scoring and that’s winning.
“You lead 3-1, I think we should hold the results, but then we were doing mistakes that killed ourselves.”
Ibrahimovic was sure to not heap praise on his opponents. He believed that the draw was down to Galaxy mistakes, and not the quality of Carlos Vela and his LAFC teammates.
He finished up saying:
“It wasn’t them. I mean, they punished us, but when they play their game, and we do mistakes, they punish us.”
“At a higher level, the one that does the most mistakes is going to pay the most.”
The Zlatan show continues in LA. He could have had a hattrick in El Trafico.
Ibrahimovich will be pushing to lead the team to a trophy. Ibrahimovic has been a winner everywhere he has been.
