Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made a plea for the COVID-19 safety protocols to be strictly adhered to amid rising cases due to the widespread virus.
The most high-profile coronavirus case was registered in the footballing world when Cristiano Ronaldo was tested positive earlier this month.
Ronaldo returned another positive test on Wednesday which forced him to miss Juventus’ Champions League clash against FC Barcelona and a reunion with nemesis Lionel Messi.
There have been allegations by the Italian Minister of Sports on CR7 that the superstar football did not follow the nation’s health guidelines, putting himself at risk to the virus.
Another high-profile COVID-19 case was recorded earlier when AC Milan’s star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was earlier identified as a carrier of the virus.
Ibrahimovic successfully recovered and was able to quickly pick back up his goalscoring form.
The veteran now urges his fans to respect the rules in a social media post in what appears to be a sly dig at Ronaldo.
“The virus challenged me and I won. But you are not Zlatan, don’t challenge the virus,” Ibrahimovic said in a video uploaded on his Instagram account.
“Use your head, respect the rules: distance and mark, always. We’ll win!”
