According to Blaugrana vice-president, Jordi Cardoner, Lionel Messi has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave next summer if he wants to.
Big news coming out of Barcelona today as vice-president Jordi Cardonero has revealed Lionel Messi has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave the club.
“We are calm and there is a lot of positivity, especially in the dressing room,” Cardoner said to Marca.
“Leo will do what he thinks is fit, but Leo’s contract is very special because he is who he is.”
He added: “It’s a concession made to him and other players who deserve it.”
“He can enter and leave the club when he sees fit.”
“I’d love for him to stay for as long as he wants to play for our team,” he added.
He also spoke about Neymar: “He was happy here. Most, if not all, the players are happy here.”
“That chapter is in the past and we will wait for things to happen [in the future], but we are competing, La Liga has already started, and it’s a chapter that we are not dealing with right now.”
The Earth is 4.5 billion years old and we're lucky enough to be alive to watch Lionel Messi play football.
