Former Arsenal forward Jose Antonio Reyes looks set to become the latest European export for China as he closes in on a move to Chinese second division side Xinjiang Tianshan Leopards, reports Football-Espana
After leaving La Liga side Espanyol in June 2017, Reyes has since been with Cordoba in the second division in Spain and played a key role for the Andalusian club as they survived relegation thanks to a strong finish to the campaign.
Reports in Spain have emerged that Reyes is now close to sealing a move to China and has reportedly met with the Xinjiang-based club’s president Sun Aijun this week with the duo later posing for a photograph.
Reyes made 21 appearances at international level for Spain and has also played for the likes of Atletico Madrid and Sevilla, where he won the Europa League title with both clubs.
Xinjiang are hopeful that the arrival of the 34-year-old forward will provide the squad with some much-needed inspiration with the club currently six points from safety at the foot of the table.
