Bayern Munich have suffered a blow ahead of their return to action at Hoffenheim next week with the news that Arjen Robben will likely be unavailable

The 34-year-old winger is currently struggling with a thigh injury and hasn’t featured for Bayern since their 5-1 Champions League win over Benfica on November 27.

As a result, Robben missed Bayern’s last five Bundesliga matches of 2018 and revealed at the club’s winter training camp in Qatar that he will likely miss at least one more.

“Training was fine today,” Robben told Sky on Thursday.

According to the former English Premier League footballer, the Reds have the advantage when they visit Bayern Munich in March.

“This week hasn’t been like I imagined. I will not be ready in time for the Hoffenheim game. I have to see from day to day.”

Robben, who will leave Bayern at the end of this season, has managed five goals and two assists in 15 appearances across all competitions this season.

Fellow veteran winger Franck Ribery is a doubt himself for Bayern’s trip to Hoffenheim after suffering a hamstring injury.
