Roberto Carlos was close to playing in England

The Real Madrid legend talked to three different English Premier League clubs, who wanted him to take his talent to England.

Brazilian defender Roberto Carlos played for two of the biggest names of football: Internazionale Milan and Real Madrid.

But he also was traveling the globe, playing not only in his native Brazil, but also in Turkey, Russia, and India.

And now he wanted to come clear how three English Premier League sides wanted to acquire his services.

“I actually came close to joining Aston Villa early in my career,” he was quoted by The Sun.

“I met with the club, but nothing happened.”

“Birmingham were also interested, but it didn’t go anywhere and I later joined Inter Milan,” he added.
